More specifically, learning to dance with a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/url?sa=t&amp;source=web&amp;cd=&amp;cad=rja&amp;uact=8&amp;ved=2ahUKEwjcqMm_nd2EAxWQZUEAHQ_RC48QFnoECAcQAQ&amp;url=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.vernonbarkercycles.co.uk%2F&amp;usg=AOvVaw1LOvr_4nIREXQEtwXYQGfg&amp;opi=89978449\">Vernon Barker<\/a> steel frame that has gone from being a <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/SingleSpeedCC\/status\/1730153494605169076\/photo\/1\">potential single speed conversion<\/a>, to a solid daily stable that I now fully enjoy.<br><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-rich is-provider-twitter wp-block-embed-twitter\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\nhttps:\/\/twitter.com\/SingleSpeedCC\/status\/1730153494605169076?s=20\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><sub>Lucy II started life as a single-speed conversion  project.<\/sub><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The Ultegra gears tick over smoothly that I buzz with excitement at times cos&#8217; this is not something that I\u2019m accustomed to. Normally, I despise the click-clank sound that derailleurs make, but somehow this classic Ultegra 6600 is seemingly quiet and seems to whisper me up the hills, even in heavy headwinds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"5 Top Bikes To Buy If You Are Broke OR Want The VERY Best!\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RzbJrbRQbk4?start=490&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><sub>&#8220;Doper-bikes&#8221; are the best bikes according to<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/@durianriders\"> Durianrider<\/a>. I agree, especially when you&#8217;re a home mechanic rollin&#8217; on sweet Shimano 6600&#8217;s<\/sub><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Is this the smartest groupset ever? Shimano Ultegra 6600 SL Edition\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rrbwR90PoxY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>\n<\/div><figcaption class=\"wp-element-caption\"><sub>Lucy II rolls with Shimano Ultegra 6600. One of the best groupsets ever made<\/sub><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a whole new exceptional feeling, and Lucy has now added a new dynamic to my training methods and pace. Though I\u2019m yet to break the exceptional 52mph that I previoulsy set on my fixed gear rig, the ease of fighting <a href=\"https:\/\/singlespeed.cc\/?p=1784\">cold and frosty headwinds<\/a> with gears is a blessing that I\u2019ve seldom experienced before.<br><br>Quick <a href=\"https:\/\/singlespeed.cc\/?p=1118\">52mph<\/a> down to slick kisses at 30. <br>Why not? <br><br>Maybe it\u2019s the cold weather, ice or winds that have been holding me back. Either way, the training continues and this so-called \u2018geared experiment\u2019 is still in motion and continues one mile at a time. Seems slow, but I\u2019m learning new techniques everyday. I\u2019m not Eddy Merckx yet, but the <a href=\"https:\/\/singlespeed.cc\/?p=1504\">spinning fun<\/a> is addictive and having gears feels awesome on these Bolsover hills.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>To make space in my hallway, I\u2019ve now packed away Dianne and Lucy II has taken her place &#8211; at least for the next few months. The strangest feeling has been not having a Raleigh in my daily stable since storage, so I guess this is a new journey for Lucy and I.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I\u2019ll update these for pages for <a href=\"https:\/\/singlespeed.cc\/?p=1018\">Dianne<\/a> as soon as I can.
