There’s something special about this quiet unassuming road that meanders away from Holbeck Woodhouse, Notts. It’s an area where the world seems to lay still along the rolling hills and green fields bordering Holbeck village. Shrubs and woodland along Elma Lane seem to be your one and only company when slowly circumventing the lane, as it stretches out down towards the A60 off to Norton.

This is rural England at its finest, and it is here that I saw something that not only made me chuckle, but in many ways made me question the reality of our mundane lives… or so it seems.

This is something that occurred just a week ago, on what was a simple lunchtime cycling spin on my trusty 73′ Raleigh classic.

No Strava segments were selected, and I had no KOM’s to conquer. It was just a simple ride, to clear my head before returning back to my papers.

I guess it’s a story that has to be told, and I think it fits perfect for Lady Elma (as I call her now) to be the opening segment of my new beginning.

But first I need to visit Lady Elma again, so I can let you know…
